Serious road crash in Ayr

Officers are appealing for information following a serious road crash in Ayr.

Around 3.50pm on Wednesday, 15 March, 2023, police received a report of road crash involving a male pedestrian and a black Honda car at the junction of Inverkar Road and Castlehill Road.

The 77-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. The driver of the car was uninjured in the incident.

Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area who witnessed the incident to contact them. Anyone with a recording device is asked to check the footage as it may have recorded images which could assist in the ongoing police investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1990 of 15 March, 2023.
