Fifth man arrested following death of man in Greenock

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Neil Canney in Greenock.

Mr Canney, 37, was found seriously injured in Nairn Road around 1.15am on Tuesday, 28 February, 2023.

He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died a short time later.

The 23-year-old is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 21 March, 2023.
