Appeal for information following wilful fireraising, Irvine

Detectives in Ayrshire are appealing for information after a car was set on fire in the Lewis Wynd area of Irvine.

The incident took place around 1am on Wednesday, 21 June, 2023.

There were no injuries and matter is being treated as a wilful fireraising.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are carrying out extensive inquiries and asking for anyone with information, or who may have seen any suspicious activity nearby to please come forward.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone with any relevant CCTV from the area around this time.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.

“Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident 0274 of 21 June, 2023. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
