Appeal following wilful fireraising in Kilmarnock
Police in Ayrshire are appealing for information following an incident of wilful fire raising in Kilmarnock.
Officers were called around 2.40am on Wednesday, 21 June, 2023 following a report of a car on fire at an address on Scott Road.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire safely. There were no injuries.
At the time of the incident two people were seen leaving in the direction of Holmes Road and getting into a dark coloured vehicle.
The first suspect was wearing a dark puffa-style jacket, dark bottoms and a hooded top with the hood up.
The second suspect was wearing a grey jacket, dark bottoms, light-coloured trainers and a hooded top with the hood up.
Detective Constable Haley Knowles of Kilmarnock CID, said: “Thankfully nobody has been injured as a result of the fire.
“Although this happened in the early hours of the morning, we would appeal to anyone who has any information surrounding the fire to come forward and speak to police.
“I would also ask if you notice anyone matching this description or acting suspicious in the area that you get in touch with officers.”
