Appeal following serious assault in Greenock
Police in Greenock are appealing for information after a woman was seriously assaulted in the Weir Street area of the town.
The attack took place at the junction with Sinclair Street, around 12.05am on Tuesday, 6 June, 2023. The victim, a 23-year-old woman, was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, for treatment.
There remains a police presence in the area as officers provide community reassurance and investigate the full circumstances of the incident.
Detective Inspector Nikki Wake, from Greenock CID, said: “We’d like to thank those members of the public who have contacted police already, and are asking for anyone else with information to please come forward.
