Man sentenced to 10 years in prison following spate of robberies in Glasgow.
At the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, 12 July, 2023, 45-year-old Stephen Maguire was sentenced to 10 years and six months imprisonment following a series of robberies in Glasgow.
The offences took place within a three week period in November 2020.
During these robberies, Maguire used a knife and used threats of violence against shop workers.
Detective Inspector Phillip Kennedy said: "We welcome the sentencing of Stephen Maguire who will now face the consequences of his actions.
“Through thorough investigation by detectives during the Covid-19 pandemic, Maguire was arrested and charged a short time after the incident. The Community Investigation Unit, based at Govan, have since been nominated for the Divisional Commanders Award for Teamwork.
“I would also like to thank the public for their help with this enquiry.
