Man arrested and charged after drugs worth £18,000 were recovered from a car in Stornoway
A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a drug offence after a car was stopped in Stornoway.
A quantity of herbal cannabis with a street value of £18,000 was recovered when officers searched the vehicle in the Shell Street area around 8.20pm on Wednesday, 26 July.
The man was released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Chief Inspector Jane MacKenzie said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and we are committed to disrupting the supply of illegal substances.
