Appeal for information following fatal crash on the A836, Invershin
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash near Invershin.
Emergency services were called to the A836 around 11.30am on Wednesday, 19 July, 2023 after a crash involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, Angus Ross, 85, from Ardgay, died at the scene.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 49-year-old man, was taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The road was closed while crash investigations were carried out and reopened around 6.20pm.
Mr Ross’ family have released this statement: “We are devastated over the loss of Angus, who was much loved by all the family. We would like to request privacy at this sad and difficult time as we come to terms with what’s happened.”
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Police Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Angus at this very difficult time. We will continue to support them as our enquiries progress.
“I’m appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to get in touch. Drivers with dashcam footage of the A836 around 11.30am on Wednesday, 19 July, are urged to review it and bring anything of significance to our attention.”
