Appeal after motorcyclist dies in Moray crash
Road policing officers are appealing for information after a fatal crash on the A96 near Alves Wood in Moray.
The incident happened around 8.40am on Sunday, 30 July and involved a white Hyundai i10 car and a black Yamaha Tracer 9 motorcycle.
The 34-year-old male rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has been named as Andrew Wright, 34, from Elgin.
The female driver of the car suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed until around 7.40pm to allow for an investigation at the scene.
Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley said, “Our thoughts are with the family of the motorcyclist at this very sad time.
“I would urge anyone who saw either vehicle shortly prior to the collision, particularly on the A96 between Elgin and Forres, who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage to contact us.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 1112 of 30 July.”
