Serious road crash on the A96 at Colpy
Officers from the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Inverurie are appealing for information following a serious road crash on the A96 at Colpy on Thursday, 12 January.
Around 2.15pm, police were called to a road crash involving a lorry and four cars on the Inverurie to Huntly road, near to Morgan McVeighs at Colpy.
A 74-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman from one of the cars were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where they are being treated for their injuries. Hospital staff describe their condition as serious.
The road remains closed at this time to allow for a full investigation into the cause of the crash to take place.
Sergeant Sarah Ritchie from the Road Policing Unit at Inverurie said: “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash take place to contact us. I am also keen to obtain any dash-cam footage from drivers in the area at the time.
“Information should be passed to 101 with reference number 1686 of 12 January.”
