Man sentenced for assault to severe injury in Dundee

A 45-year-old man has been sentenced today, Monday, 9 January, 2023 for assault to severe injury that took place in Dundee on Wednesday, 6 April 2022.

Steven Greig appeared at Edinburgh High Court where he was sentenced to five years and four months in prison.

He had pleaded guilty at an appearance in court on Friday, 9 December, 2022.

Detective Inspector Allan Thomson said: “Steven Greig’s actions were so violent that he left a man in a critical condition in hospital. His behaviour was unprovoked, has had a long term effect on the victim, and his conviction brings a difficult investigation to conclusion.”
