Appeal for witnesses following crash on Gauze Street in Paisley

Road Policing Officers are appealing for witnesses to a road crash on Gauze Street at Smithhills Street in Paisley on Friday, 30 December, 2022.
 
Around 9.30pm, a 26-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were struck by a Seat Ibiza car being driven by a 20-year-old man.
 
Police and ambulance attended and the woman was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where staff describe her condition as critical.
 
The 27-year-old man was not taken to hospital. 
 
The 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and later released pending further enquiries.
 
Sergeant Kenny Maleney of the Road Policing Unit said: “Enquiries are continuing into this crash and I would appeal for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, to contact us. I am also keen to obtain any dashcam from that area around the time of the crash.
 
“Anyone with information should contact officers through 101 with incident number 1464 of 30 December.”
