Appeal after deliberate fire at Kilmarnock Rugby Club
Officers in Kilmarnock are appealing for information after a fire raising incident at a sports club in the town.
A fire was reported at a stand at Kilmarnock Rugby Club off Queens Drive around 1.25am on Wednesday, 25 January.
The fire was extinguished and no one was injured.
It is being treated as deliberate and enquiries are ongoing.
Inspector Iain Farmer of Kilmarnock Police Station said “This local facility is widely used with their range of activities throughout the week and this type of incident not only affects those that use this club but the community as a whole.
“I condemn such behaviour and I am appealing for witnesses who may have valuable information in relation to this incident to make contact with the police, referring to incident 0156 of 25 January, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“Additional patrols will be dedicated within the area.”
