A man charged with drugs offences after a car was stopped on Sword Street, Glasgow
A man has been arrested and charged after cannabis and cocaine with a street value of £168,000 was discovered in a car on Sword Street, Glasgow.
As part of efforts to tackle serious and organised crime, officers stopped a Mercedes C Class around 9.45pm on Thursday, 12 January, 2023.
A search of the vehicle was carried out and the man, aged 40, was charged with drugs offences. He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today (Friday, 13 January, 2023).
Detective Chief Inspector Gordon McRae, Serious and Organised Crime said : “This was a significant recovery by officers which has stopped large amounts of illicit drugs reaching the most vulnerable people in our communities.
“Police Scotland is committed to disrupting the illicit supply of drugs in our communities and we will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from our streets.
