Serious assault – Catrine, East Ayrshire
Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked and seriously injured in Catrine on Saturday, 4 February 2023.
Around 7.30 pm, a 29-year-old man had just left a flat on St Germain Street when a man assaulted him. He sustained a number of injuries to his face and body as a result and was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as stable.
The suspect is described as white, of a heavy build and had a dark beard. He was wearing a beanie-style hat and a dark leather jacket.
Officers have been making door-to-door enquiries and checking CCTV in the area.
Detective Constable Graham Cuthill, Police Scotland, said:
“The motive for the attack has yet to be established. From our enquiries, the suspect walked off after the attack towards Wood Street. We would ask anyone who was in the area, especially motorists with dash-cam footage, or anyone who has any information that may assist officers with their investigation, to contact police via 101.
