New Deputy Chief Constable takes oath
Deputy Chief Constable Jane Connors QPM was welcomed by Chief Constable Sir Iain Livingstone QPM as she was sworn in as a Police Scotland officer.
DCC Connors made the Constable’s Declaration during an Oath of Office ceremony at Police Scotland Headquarters, Tulliallan, on Thursday 16 February, 2023.
Martyn Evans, chair of the Scottish Police Authority, also attended the ceremony which was overseen by Justice of the Peace, Gillian Thomson.
DCC Connors was previously Deputy Assistant Commissioner for Professionalism at the Metropolitan Police Service.
Her appointment follows a process of assessment, interview and selection conducted by the Scottish Police Authority.
Sir Iain said: “Jane’s appointment is a key addition to our senior leadership team. I am grateful for the considerable experience and value she brings to Police Scotland.”
DCC Connors said: “It’s a privilege to join Police Scotland and contribute to work being delivered by dedicated officers and staff across the organisation. I look forward to using my experience to ensure we continue to offer the highest quality of policing.”
DCC Connors has 30 years’ service within the Metropolitan Police Service and was Gold Commander in London for Operation London Bridge, the policing operation for arrangements following the death of Her Majesty the Queen.
