Investigation under way following assault of man in Irvine
Detectives are continuing enquiries following a serious assault in Irvine on Monday, 6 February, 2023.
Around 8.30pm, police received a report a 34- year-old man had been injured at a shopping complex in Rivergate, Irvine. Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital.
Officers have been checking CCTV footage from in and around the area and enquiries carried out so far have established the man was assaulted by two men.
The first suspect is white and around 20-years-old. He was wearing a black Lyle and Scott jacket, white shirt, black trousers and black shoes. The second suspect is white, around 30-years-old with a black suit, white shirt, black tie and black shoes.
Detective Constable Lee Duncan said: “The motive for this attack is unknown and it’s important we trace the two men responsible. I would appeal to any shoppers who were in the area at the time to contact us with any information they may have.”
