Appeal following attempted housebreaking and assault, Carluke, Lanarkshire,
Officers are appealing for information following an attempted housebreaking and assault with intent to rob in Carluke.
The incident happened around 8.45pm on Saturday, 18 February, 2023, in Waterlands Gardens in the town when four men were seen trying to break into a property.
A member of the public was assaulted by the men who attempted to take his mobile phone. The 60-year-old man was taken to hospital however not seriously injured
All four men then made off in the direction of Stonedyke Road in two cars, one described as a white four by four and the other a dark coloured vehicle.
Police Sergeant John Logan said: “Fortunately the man who challenged the suspects was not seriously injured and our enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.
“We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious before or after the incident or who has dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation to get in touch.
