Multi-agency hub in Elgin ahead of festive period
Officers in Elgin will be on dedicated patrols to provide reassurance and support in the town this month.
On Friday, 22 and Saturday, 23 December, 2023, a multi-agency hub will be in place on the plain stones, High Street. This will run between 8pm into the early hours of the morning on both nights.
This comes as part of the Moray Festive Policing plan, during which officers will work alongside partners from the Scottish Ambulance Service, NHS Moray, Moray Council, and the Elgin Street Pastors. The Moray Information Bus will be the hub where officers and volunteers from Scotia Medical Group will be available to help keep you safe and offer support this festive period.
There will be support for domestic violence, alcohol and drugs, and any medical incidents. It will be a safe space to be supported by trained professionals and experienced volunteers.
Constable Donald Matheson said: “In the run up to Christmas, we are working with partners to provide advice and support to anyone who may need it.
“The hub aims to provide the local community a chance to engage with the services in their area and ensure everyone has a safe festive period.”
