Festive patrols launched in Perth
This year's Festive Patrol Campaign aimed at keeping Perth a safe place to live, work and visit over the festive season has been launched.
Police Scotland and partners have commenced an operation which will run every day for the rest of the year. Together they will tackle and prevent anti-social behaviour, disorder, retail crime and other forms of criminality throughout December.
This will include high visibility police patrols of Perth city centre to ensure the safety of the community. Officers will have a Community vehicle stationed at High Street and King Edward Street, Perth and encourage people to come and speak with officers and share any concerns they may have.
Partners this year include Taxi Marshalls at the weekend, Community Wardens from Perth and Kinross Council, and Street Pastors.
Sergeant Dave Summers, Perth Community Policing Team said: "In the run-up to Christmas, we are once again delighted to be working with partners to keep people safe over the festive period.
"In addition to offering reassurance to the public and responding to any incidents, officers and partners will also be offering a range of crime prevention advice, including how best to protect yourself, your home and your belongings, and I would encourage you to speak with them.
"Community officers in Perth wish you and your loved ones a safe festive period."
