Appeal for information following serious assault in Glasgow City Centre
Detectives are appealing for information relating to a serious assault which occurred in Glasgow City Centre on Saturday, 2 December, 2023.
Around 11pm a 28-year-old man was walking along Gordon Street near to its junction with Union Street when a man who was unknown to him punched him to the side of the face.
The victim kept walking and made his way home before attending at Hairmyres Hospital several days later where he received treatment to a serious facial injury.
The incident was subsequently reported to police and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detective Constable John McMahon from Greater Glasgow CID said: “This appears to have been a completely random and unprovoked assault on the victim who has been left with a serious facial injury.
“The suspect was in the company of another man at the time of the attack and we are appealing to anyone who was in Glasgow City Centre around 11pm on Saturday, 2 December, and witnessed what happened to please come forward.
“We would also urge any motorists with dash-cams to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to the investigation.
