Appeal for information following assault with intent to rob in Salsburgh
Detectives are appealing for information following an assault with intent to rob in Salsburgh.
Around 10.30pm on Monday, 27 November, 2023, a 57-year-old woman was assaulted on the footbridge near Main Street before the attackers tried to take her bag. Three males were seen making off empty handed.
The males are described as around 17 to 20-years-old, all wearing dark clothing, with their faces covered and hoods up.
Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time and saw what happened, or recognises the descriptions of the men, to contact police.
DC Craig Hartley, Coatbridge CID, said: “Although the woman didn’t require medical treatment, she’s been left extremely shaken by the incident. It’s vital we establish the full circumstances of what happened and trace these men.
“I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around 10.30pm on Monday who saw or heard anything suspicious. Similarly, anyone with private CCTV, doorbell footage or dashcam of the area is urged to review the footage and bring anything of significance to our attention.”
