Two men arrested and charged in connection with break-ins across Angus
Two men have been arrested and charged following a number of break-ins in Montrose, Arbroath and Monifieth in recent months.
The men, aged 22 and 27, appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 22 August, 2023.
It follows investigations carried out by uniformed officers and CID in Tayside.
Chief Inspector Ross Fitzgerald said: “I would like to thank the public for all their help and support during our enquiries.
“Tackling housebreakings and robberies continues to be a priority for us. We work closely with communities to ensure we disrupt the activity of the individuals committing these crimes.
“From our enquiries, it appears that criminals have targeted empty properties of people who are on holiday. If you plan to go away, I would encourage you to have a friend, family or neighbour periodically check your home is secure. If possible, you may also wish to put your lights on a timer as a deterrent.
“We appreciate the impact that this has had on the local community, and we will continue to be a regular police presence in the area. I would urge anyone with concerns to speak to officers, call 101, or in the case of an emergency, 999.”
