Appeal following fatal crash on the A87
Officers are continuing to appeal for information following a fatal crash on the A87.
The incident involving a Triumph Motorcycle and a Fiat motorhome, happened around 5.20pm on Friday, 25 August, 2023, on the A87 at Glen Shiel.
The 73-year-old male rider was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University hospital where he died on Sunday, 27 August, 2023.
He can be named as 73-year-old Alexander McCracken from Coventry, who was known as Sandy.
The occupants of the campervan were checked over by the Scottish Ambulance Service and did not require hospital treatment.
The road was closed for crash investigation work to be carried out and re=opened around 3am on Saturday, 26 August, 2023.
Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Alexander at this difficult time and we ask that their privacy is respected.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to us to get in touch.
“I would also ask that anyone who has dash-cam footage which may assist contact us."
