Wilful fire-raising – Lamont Farm Project – Erskine
Police are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising at an animal rescue project in Erskine on Friday, 31 March 2023.
Around 4.15 am police were called to a fire at Lamont Farm Project on Barrhill Road. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire which took place in a cabin based within the grounds. There were no injuries to the animals.
Detective Constable Robert Urquhart, Paisley CID, said:
“Thankfully none of the animals were injured as a result of this but it was noise from their distress that alerted staff to the fire.
“Officers are currently checking local CCTV and checking with neighbouring properties but would appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard something suspicious in the early hours of Friday morning to come forward.
