Three men convicted of drug offences in Inverness
Three men have been convicted of drugs offences in Inverness on Monday, 24 April, 2023, at the High Court in Edinburgh.
Serafin Gaik aka Tomas (30) was found guilty following a trial, and Pawel Chmielewski (34), and Logan MacLeod (21) pled guilty following an intelligence-led operation that resulted in the seizure of £425,000 worth of drugs and £19,530 in cash.
The men will be sentenced on 22 May 2023.
Detective Inspector Robin Sim of the Specialist Crime Division said: “Today’s conviction sends a strong message that drug activity in Scotland will not be tolerated.
“These men were involved in a crime group who brought large amounts of Cannabis and Cocaine to the North of Scotland which was ultimately destined for the streets of Inverness.
"Tackling serious and organised crime and those involved in the supply and distribution of controlled drugs continues to be a priority for Police Scotland. We will seek every opportunity to disrupt and prosecute those that are involved.
"Whilst we gather intelligence on such individuals through day-to-day policing, we also rely on the information provided by members of our communities who are affected by drug dealers' activities in their neighbourhoods. If you have information about drug dealing or concerns, I would encourage you to contact us on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.”
