Pedestrian struck by car – Main Street, Baillieston, Glasgow
Police are appealing for information after a 67-year-old woman was struck by a car in Baillieston, Glasgow, on Saturday, 15 April 2023.
Around 10.15 am, the woman was leaving the car park of the Lidl supermarket off Main Street when she was struck by a car that was exiting the car park at the time.
The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where medical staff describe her condition as serious but stable.
Constable McConnachie, Shettleston Police Station, said:
“The incident was reported to police on Sunday, 16 April, so unfortunately, we did not get the chance to speak to people who were in the area the time and who came to the aid of the woman.
“Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. We are checking CCTV and have been making local enquiries but would ask anyone who saw what happened or who has any information about the incident to come forward.
“We would be keen to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam footage from the car park or street around that time.
“All we are aware of at the moment is that the car was green in colour and a hatchback. Whether the driver was aware that they had struck the woman has still to be confirmed, so we’d ask the driver of the car described to get in touch.
“If you have any information that may assist officers with their investigation, then please contact police via 101 quoting reference number 1100 of Sunday, 16 April 2023. Alternatively, details can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
