Patrols following complaints about motorists in Dumfries
Roads Policing officers in Dumfries have been carrying out a series of patrols in marked and unmarked vehicles, following complaints from the local community about irresponsible driver behaviour around Cuckoo Bridge Retail Park.
Over the weekend of 1-2 April, 2023, a number of motorists were engaged with and provided with advice.
Two vehicles were taken off the road due to their dangerous mechanical condition and both drivers will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a number of road traffic offences.
Sergeant Scott McCreadie, from the Dumfries and Galloway Roads Policing Unit, said: “It is disappointing that the driving behaviour of a minority group of individuals continues to have an adverse effect on our community.
“Some of what we witnessed, or was reported to us, at the weekend was outrageous and action has been taken against these driver.
“We will continue to carry out patrols in the area and will not hesitate to take enforcement action against those acting irresponsibly and putting others at risk.”
