Appeal following wilful fire-raising in Coatbridge

Police are appealing for information after a car was deliberately set alight in Coatbridge on Saturday, 15 April 2023.

The incident happened around midnight on Clunie Place in the town when a Nissan X-Trail was extensively damaged.

Detective Constable David Forde, of Coatbridge CID, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“We are looking to identify a man seen at the time. He is described as of slim build and was wearing all back clothing with his hood up. Enquiries so far have established that he went in the direction of Burleigh Street.

“I would ask anyone who may have seen anyone in this area before or afterwards to get in touch with police.

“If you have any information that may assist our enquiries, then please call officers via 101, quoting reference number 0043 of Saturday, 15 April, 2023. Alternatively, details can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
