Appeal after robbery in Greenock
Detectives in Inverclyde are appealing for witnesses after a robbery of a man in Greenock.
The incident happened around 11.45pm on Wednesday, 5 April in the lower area of Murdieston Dam, near to Thom Street.
A 44-year-old man was walking his dog when he was approached by two males who threatened him and demanded money.
They made off on foot after stealing the man’s wallet.
The first male is described as being white, late teens to early 20s, around 5ft 11in tall and of slim build. He was wearing a blue surgical mask, dark hooded zipped top with stripes on the arm and white trainers/
The second was white and a few inches shorter than the first man and of slim build, with hair swept back off his forehead. He also had a blue surgical mask on his face and was wearing dark clothing with no hood.
Both spoke with a local accent.
Detective Inspector Neil Martin said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information to get in touch.
“Despite this happening late in the day, we know this is an area frequented by dog walkers and others at all times and I would urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or seen the two men approaching the victim to get in touch.
