Thirteen people charged in connection with drugs offences in Hamilton
Thirteen people have been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences after officers carried out a pre-planned operation and executed warrants at 13 addresses across Hamilton on Monday, 26 September, 2022.
Officers from Lanarkshire Pro Active Crime Team also recovered quantities of cocaine, heroin and etizolam tablets with a combined estimated street value of £14,170. A four figure quantity of cash was also recovered.
The thirteen people charged, eight men and five women aged between 22 and 59, are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 26 October.
Detective Inspector Laura Sands said: “I hope that this operation provides reassurance to those living in the local community that we will continue to act on their concerns and use every tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from our street and put a stop to the misery they cause. The supply and distribution of controlled drugs continues to be a priority for Lanarkshire Police Division and I will seek every opportunity to target and disrupt those that are involved.
“We depend on the continued support from members of the public as they have a vital role to play in reporting information to us. I would encourage anyone with information or concerns about drugs in their local community to contact us through 101. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
