Suspicious fire at school hut in Faifley, Clydebank
Officers are appealing for information following a suspicious fire in Clydebank.
Around 3.30pm on Monday, 26 September, 2022, police received a report a wooden play hut, within Edinbarnet Primary School, in Faifley was on fire.
Emergency services attended and enquiries carried out so far have indicated that the fire was started deliberately.
A group of youths, aged between 12 to 15 years old, were seen in the area prior to the hut being set on fire.
The wooden hut and all the toys that were stored within have been completely destroyed.
Officers are checking relevant CCTV footage for any additional information which could aid their investigation.
Detective Constable Lee Cassidy said: “The wanton destruction of this hut has left schoolchildren with nothing to play with. I am appealing to anyone who was in the area on Monday afternoon to think back and consider if they saw anything suspicious. If you have any information then please do pass it on as it could assist us in locating those responsible for this criminal act.”
