Six men convicted over firebombing incidents in Greenock
Six men have been convicted at the High Court in Glasgow in connection with attempted murder and conspiracy to murder in Greenock in 2020 following a series of firebombing incidents.
Craig McFarlane, 26, and Cain Carr, 23, were convicted today (Thursday, 22 September) in connection with conspiracy to murder.
Brendan O’Donnell, 24, Drew Darling, 28 and Kieran McAnally, 26, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and Robert Warnock, 26, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to murder on Wednesday, 14 September.
All are due to be sentenced at a later date.
Detective Chief Inspector Douglas Falconer said: “These acts were deliberate and risked the lives of other people and we welcome this conviction.
“This was a complex investigation and I would like to thank all the officers and partner agencies who helped to secure this conviction.
“This sends a clear message to those in the community who would commit such crimes that this behaviour will not be tolerated.”
