Murder investigation launched following death of woman in Dyce, Aberdeen
Police Scotland can confirm that they have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman in Dyce, Aberdeenshire.
Around 3.30am on Saturday, 17 September, 2022, the body of a woman was found near an address on Stoneywood Road, Dyce.
Police can now confirm the identity of the woman as Jill Barclay, aged 47, from the Dyce area.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death.
Police enquiries will be ongoing for some time in the area to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
Jill’s family have issued a picture of Jill and the following statement:
“Jill was a deeply loved life partner, mother and daughter. We would now appreciate being left in peace to grieve privately.”
Detective Superintendent Andrew Patrick, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with Jill’s family and friends at what is a very difficult time for them.
“We have a dedicated team of officers in the area working on this investigation and I would like to reassure the community that they can speak to them if they have any concerns.
“I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.
