Man charged following attempted murder of police officer in Glasgow
Police Scotland can confirm 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of a male police officer in Glasgow.
Around 7.30am on Friday, 23 September, 2022, the male police officer was assaulted while carrying out enquiries at a property on Wyndford Drive.
He was treated for injuries at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and was later discharged.
A female police officer sustained minor injuries during the incident but did not require medical treatment.
The 26-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 26 September, 2022.
Superintendent Ross Allan, of Greater Glasgow Division, said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the officers involved but thankfully neither officer sustained any serious injuries.
“This was an isolated incident and there was no threat to the wider community.”
