Appeal for information after a car was set on fire in Medlar Road in Cumbernauld

Police Scotland is appealing for information after a car was deliberately set on fire in Cumbernauld.

The white BMW was found alight at around 11.25pm on Sunday, 4 September, 2022 in Medlar Road and was quickly extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

There were no reports of any injuries or any damage to property.

Detective Constable Billy Murray of Coatbridge CID said : “We are keen to trace a group of youths who were seen to make off from the area. They were dressed in dark clothing. Anyone who has any information as to who was responsible is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 4233 of 4 September, 2022.”
