Constables deployed to communities
Police officers will deploy to serve communities across Scotland after the latest group of probationary constables completed their initial training.
Chief Constable, Sir Iain Livingstone QPM, today (Friday, 21 October, 2022) thanked and congratulated 300 officers during a passing out parade at Police Scotland Headquarters, Tulliallan.
Having completed the initial 12-week course, the officers will deploy to local policing divisions to begin the next stage of their two-year probationary programme with tutor constables who will mentor them on operational shifts.
Sir Iain said: “Policing is a demanding and enormously rewarding vocation. I thank our officers for stepping-forward to provide vital public service with professionalism and compassion.
“Anyone can be a police officer in Scotland if they share those high standards and our values of integrity, fairness, respect and a commitment to human rights.
“I’m grateful to the family members and loved ones who joined us today and whose support will be important throughout the careers of our officers.”
