Officers appeal following disturbance on Western Road, Kilmarnock

Officers in Kilmarnock are appealing for information following a disturbance on Western Road.

Police received reports of a disturbance on the roadway at 12.40am on the morning of Friday, 6 May 2022.

Officers attended and discovered that the window of a black van had been smashed. A group of people left the area on foot and made off towards Dean Street, Kilmarnock.

Detective Constable McMaster, Kilmarnock CID said:

“We spoke to a number of people at the time, however we are appealing for anyone else who was in the area at the time to come forward.

“As Western Road is a main route in and out of Kilmarnock it’s possible that passers-by may have witnessed what happened and be able to provide some dashcam footage.

We would like to reassure the local community and will have extra patrols in the area. If anyone has any concerns they should contact Police.”
