Appeal following wilful fire-raising incidents in Paisley
Police in Renfrewshire are appealing for information following two incidents of wilful fire-raising in Paisley on Monday, 23 May, 2022.
Around 12.15am, police received a report of fire at a premises in McKenzie Street. The fire caused minor damage to the rear of the premises.
Around the same time, officers received a report of two vehicles, on fire in a nearby yard, also on McKenzie Street.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
Nobody was injured in either of the incidents.
Both fires is being treated as deliberate and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Detective Constable Barry Gourley, of Paisley CID, said: "Thankfully nobody has been injured as a result of this reckless behaviour.
"We are keeping an open mind that the two incidents may be connected and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
"I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time, and who may have seen anything suspicious, to get in touch.
