Appeal following wilful fire-raising in Port Glasgow

Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a wilful fire at a property in Port Glasgow.

Officers were called to a fire on Devol Road around 6pm on Sunday, 1 May, 2022.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Enquiries are ongoing and the fire is currently being treated as wilful.

Detective Constable Laura Sokolov said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this reckless act and only minor damage was caused.

“I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.”
