Appeal following break-in at pharmacy in Beith
Officers in Ayrshire are appealing for information following a theft by housebreaking in Beith.
Around 5am on Tuesday, 24 May, police were alerted to a break-in at a pharmacy on Eglinton Street. Officers attended and it was established that a quantity of medication had been stolen from the premises.
Detective Constable Ross Keenan, of Saltcoats CID, said: “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and we are checking all available CCTV to trace those responsible.
“I would urge anyone who has information or who may live in the area and heard or saw anything suspicious to contact police immediately.
“Likewise, if anyone was in the area and has dash-cam footage, CCTV or doorbell cameras I would encourage you to check your footage for anything of relevance.
“The medication stolen could pose a health risk to anyone who ingests it without prior medical approval from their doctor. I would strongly advise members of the public to only take medication if it has been prescribed by their doctor and administered by a pharmacist.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0379 of 24 May, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
