Three Assistant Chief Constables welcomed into Police Scotland
Police Scotland welcomes three new Assistant Chief Constables today following their recent appointment by the Scottish Police Authority.
ACCs Bex Smith, Andy Freeburn and Emma Bond were appointed following a process of assessment, interview and selection carried out by the SPA.
Their arrival brings changes to our Executive Team who bring professional expertise to strategy and policy-making and set the agenda which inspires and drives the Service.
ACC Smith joins the organisation from the National Crime Agency and will lead the work of Major Crime, Public Protection and Local Crime.
ACC Freeburn comes from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and will lead the work of Organised Crime, Counter Terrorism and Intelligence.
ACC Bond also comes from the PSNI and joins Local Policing Command.
Our Chief Constable Iain Livingstone said: “Emma, Andy and Bex bring significant and diverse value and experience to policing in Scotland. I congratulate them on their appointment and welcome them to Police Scotland.
