Police are investigating the attack of a 51-year-old man in East Kilbride
Officers are appealing for information following a serious assault in East Kilbride on Sunday, 6 March, 2022.
Around 7pm that evening, a man was cycling along a path in the underpass at Calderglen Road, near to Glen Farg, East Kilbride, when he was approached by a man who stood in front of his bike, forcing him to stop. The cyclist was then assaulted before the attacker made off in the direction of High Common Road.
The 51-year-old victim suffered an injury to his face and was treated at Hairmyres Hospital.
The suspect is white and was wearing dark coloured clothing with a dark hood up or hat on.
Officers have been reviewing CCTV footage for any additional information it could provide.
Detective Constable Ashley Hind said: “This has been an unprovoked attack on a man out cycling, resulting in him receiving a serious facial injury. I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to think back and consider if they saw anything which would assist in our investigation. Any small piece of information could prove relevant so please do pass it on.”
