Housebreaking - Douglas Crescent, Erskine
Police are appealing for information after a house in Douglas Crescent, Erskine, was broken into and a quantity of cash and jewellery was stolen.
Thieves broke into the house between 10am and 3.40pm on Thursday, 10 February 2022 and stole distinctive Asian gold jewellery, including 22 carat gold bracelets and necklaces, worth a four-figure sum. Cash was also taken.
Detective Constable Rebecca Daily, Paisley CID, said:
"There was no one in the house at the time but the owners are devastated by what happened. The jewellery was not only valuable in monetary terms but was also of significant sentimental value.
"Officers have been carrying out local enquiries and checking CCTV but are appealing to anyone who has not yet come forward to police to get in touch.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen people acting suspiciously in the street, or who may have seen one or two cars that are not usually parked there or were parked with people in them for a length of time. We'd also encourage anyone who was driving in the area between 10am and 3.30 pm to check their dash cam footage as they may have captured video that could help our investigation.
"Anyone with information can call officers via 101 quoting reference number 2188 of Thursday, 10 February, 2022. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111."
