Appeal following serious crash on A87, Isle of Skye
Road Policing officers are appealing for information and witnesses following a serious road crash on the Isle of Skye, which took place on Thursday, 24 March.
The incident happened around 1.35pm on the A87 at Varigill, south of Portree. It involved a blue Suzuki Swift car, which left the road.
The driver and sole occupant, a 27-year-old man, was conveyed to Raigmore Hospital, where he remains with serious injuries.
The road was closed for around 6 hours as officers carried out an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Enquiries are continuing and any witnesses are urged to come forward.
Sergeant Neil MacDonald, from the Highland and Islands Road Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the Suzuki Swift traveling on the A87 prior to the incident to please get in touch.
“We are also keen to speak with motorists who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time in question.
