Appeal following serious crash near Larkhall

Officers at the Road Policing Unit in Motherwell are continuing enquiries and appealing for information following a serious road crash near Larkhall on Sunday, 20 March, 2022.

Around 12.30pm on Sunday, 20 March, a white coloured BMW 320 car was exiting the southbound M74 junction 7 slip road, when it collided with a white Yamaha motorcycle travelling east on Lanark Rd (A72).

The 63-year-old motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital, Wishaw where he is currently being treated for his injuries. The 36-year-old car driver was not injured.

Sergeant Craig McDonald at Motherwell Road Policing Unit would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash, and has not already spoken to police, or anyone who has dash-cam footage of the incident.

Anyone who has information should contact police at Wishaw via 101 quoting incident number 1604 of 20 March, 2022.
