Appeal following serious assault in Uddingston
Detectives in Lanarkshire are appealing for information after a serious assault on a 44-year-old man in Uddingston on Thursday, 3 March, 2022.
Around 2pm, officers were called to a report of a man being seriously injured after being assaulted by two men within a premises on Main Street, Uddingston.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for head injuries.
Both suspects are described as between 20 and 30-years-old and were wearing balaclavas, black trousers, black long sleeved tops, black footwear and a sleeveless high-vis vest.
The first man was between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall and of slim to medium build.
The second man was between 5ft 7in and 5ft 8in and also of a slim to medium build.
Both were seen making off from the area in a dark grey/blue Volvo.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who might have information to help trace those responsible.
Detective Inspector Susie Cairns, from Cambuslang CID, said: "This appears to have been a targeted attack and we do not believe there was any risk to the wider public.
"It took place in premises on a busy road, with numerous members of the public present, so we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
"We’re also keen to hear from anyone with potential dashcam footage or private CCTV from the area, as it could prove vital to our enquiries."
