Appeal after man seriously injured in Greenock assault
Detectives in Greenock are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in an assault on Banff Street in the town.
Officers received a report of a disturbance in the area around 2.05pm on Monday, 28 March.
A 34-year-old man was found with serious injuries and taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
He is described as being in a serious but stable condition.
Detective Inspector Nikki Wake of Greenock Police Station said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have seen or heard any sort of disturbance on Banff Street or in the nearby area on Monday afternoon to get in touch.
“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have dashcam or private CCTV footage which could be of use to our investigation.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 1607 of 29 March, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
