Wilful fire-raising – Charleston Drive, Menzieshill, Dundee

Police are appealing for information after a car was deliberately set alight in the Menzieshill area of Dundee on Tuesday, 21 June, 2022.

Around 5.10 am, police were called to Charleston Drive after a blue Ford Fiesta was set alight outside a house. No one was in the car at the time, however, the vehicle has been extensively damaged.

Detective Constable Steve Smith, Tayside CID said:

“Whilst the motive for this fire has yet to be established we believe that it was, for whatever reason, targeted.
​
“Officers have been checking CCTV and from there a man is seen pouring accelerant over the vehicle before driving off in a dark coloured car. He is only described at the moment as wearing dark clothing.
