Three charged following disturbance near Ayr Racecourse

Police in Ayr can confirm that three men have been arrested and charged in connection with a disturbance near Ayr Racecourse, Whitletts Road, which took place last weekend.

The incident happened around 11.40am on Sunday, 5 June.

Following the charging of a 31-year-old man earlier this week, two further men, aged 17 and 34, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. All three have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal and are expected to appear in court at a later date.

Constable Shannyn Henderson, from Ayr Police Station, said: “We’d like to thank the large number of people who contacted police and assisted our enquiries as part of this investigation.

“We have been carrying out focussed patrols in the area since the incident, to provide reassurance to the local community, and these will continue for the coming days.”
